Antifungal drug Zalain: instructions for use

Indications for use


Candles "Zalain" are used to treat vulvovaginal candidiasis - an infection of the mucous membrane of the vagina, caused by fungi of the genus Candida.
Cream "Zalain" is used in the treatment of candidiasis, multi-colored lichen and superficial mycoses of the skin of various localization: mycoses of the feet, torso, beard, legs and hands.

Dosing and Administration "Zalaina"


Candles "Zalain" prescribed once. Before using the drug should wash the external genitals with alkaline or neutral soap. One candle is inserted deep into the vagina in the supine position. Introduction should be carried out before bedtime. If the clinical symptoms of a fungal infection persist, it is possible to reapply Zalain after 7 days. In cases where the infection spreads simultaneously to the labia and adjacent areas, additional treatment with Zalain cream is carried out.
Cream "Zalain" should be applied to the affected areas of the skin with a thin even layer, capturing about 1 cm of healthy skin. Recommended by the instruction to “Zalain” the number of applications - 2 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the location of the disease and the type of pathogen. Symptoms of a fungal infection usually disappear after 2-4 weeks of applying the cream, and the optimal duration of treatment is 4 weeks.
During the Zalain treatment period, it is not recommended to use acidic detergents, since the acidic environment is favorable for the reproduction of fungal microorganisms.

Contraindications and side effects


Candles and cream "Zalain" is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to sertaconazole. Information about the safety of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not available, but "Zalain" may be assigned to a pregnant or nursing woman, if the potential benefit of the drug outweighs the possible risks to the fetus or child. During the period of use of "Zalain" breastfeeding should be interrupted.
Candles can cause burning and itching, which pass on their own and do not require discontinuation of the drug. Also, this dosage form "Zalaina" can cause the development of allergic reactions.
Side effects of the cream may manifest as contact dermatitis and erythematous rashes, which quickly pass and do not require cessation of therapy.
